As a child, Disney movies portray men and women in specific roles.
The ideal man in a Disney film is tall, strong, muscular, and handsome. As seen here in the Disney movie "Beauty and the Beast," Gaston is represented as the ideal strong masculine man, and give children the idea that all male figures should look like this. From the start, these movies give children the wrong visual image of what a real man is supposed to look like. They grow up believing that this is what the ideal man needs to look like. Women are also given the care taking and nurturing role. These Disney movies show how women are not much of an authority figure and are seen as the weaker sex.
We can thank Disney movies for creating the images in which children grow up thinking is the ideal female and male figure.
